A Movie Controversy The Indonesian television this week filled with the news of an independent movie from Singaporean based citizen called ‘Cowboys in Paradise’. Not only played in a festival, the movie had already available in Youtube network. The movie mainly tells about Kuta beach boys who hangs out freely with the tourist that they even makes out together. In Indonesia the issue being spread as a Balinese gigolo movie. This issue that brings strong reaction from the Balinese authorities. The authorities mainly object the legality of the movie. They believed Amit Virmani, the movie maker didn’t have any permission to do such a movie. Just days after that, the police had a raid in Kuta searching for people who don’t have working permit. And just yesterday they investigate the beach boys who are shown on the movie. The beach boys themselves already told the journalists their objection of the movie being played in public.

I saw Heart movie yesterday. An Indonesian movie directed by Hanny R. Saputra, starring Irwansyah (new comer), Nirina Zubir (30 hari mencari cinta) & Acha Septriasa (Apa Artinya Cinta). A coincidence actually while I was hearing the soundtrack, I was curious about the movie and suddenly I found my brother renting this movie. So no need a long time to put it on VCD player =) Comments: It seems that too much crying in this movie, although some scene are worth to cried about. I can't see the best of Acha's acting because almost all of her scene are crying scene. Nirina's acting as a "tomboy"(boyish?) girl is good, but I can't say the best also, her part maybe the hardest between the main actors, but I think there still a lot of "missing" in her acting. Irwansyah I think more better, considering he's a new comer. The soundtrack is good, except for the changing of lyrics on Menghitung Hari 2 (the idea on accoustic is good, but changing the lyrics ...

5/26/2006 3:02:45 AM X Men III: The Last Stand Watching this last movie of the X-Men, we're truly given a lot of superpower action, which we'll not find in our reality. The war between Xavier's side who we called X-Men and Magneto's brotherhood surely is the main attraction on this film. Although some other spice added, including triangle love (Scott, Logan "Wolverine" and Jane Grey also Kitty, Rogue & Bobby "Iceman"). If we look closer, from a different angle, not all fiction was on this movie. Some things are interestingly reminding me to what happen in the real life, for example: Magneto who in some ways reminding me to Osama bin Laden who become a people whose most feared by The President of United States. Magneto's Brotherhood and his attempt to fight against the government somehow showing a bunch of people with a same background and perception whose trying to fight the government because the government/US feared/atte...
